• When did the silver ferns become a netball team?

The silver ferns have been playing in netball games since 1938!

• Why do some people think that netball is just a girls sport?

Because netball is like basketball but it’s basically made more for girls. But when you think about there are a lot of boys netball teams around the world so I don’t see why some people think netball is just for girls! Yes you wear skirts and dresses when you play but the boys could easily just wear shorts. I think overall that netball is a sport not just for girls but for boys as well.

• Why would people choose to play netball?

Because Netball is a fun, energetic sport that you can get really fit playing. Netball is not just passing the ball around you actually have to talk with your team to think up a plan, so netball is actually a great sport to make new friends as well. Also it’s not just for young kids all ages can play netball.
